Iceland Volcanic Eruption: As of 15 April 2010:
- Due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the subsequent ash cloud moving through European airspace, travellers to Europe and Scandinavian countries are urged to make contact with their travel agencies or flight representatives in order to confirm departures of their booked scheduled flights. This is in view of reports of the cancellation of numerous flights across Europe.
- London Heathrow and most other airports in Europe are reported closed and a number of flights cancelled. There is no clear indication of when normal operations will resume.
- South African travellers affected by the volcanic eruption can contact SAA at 011 978 9111 or consult their website at http://www.flysaa.com/ for assistance with re-booking of their flights on an alternative date.
