Yemen

1. Due to the civil unrest in Yemen, non-essential travel to that country is discouraged for the time being.

2. Travellers are urged to register their travel on the Department’s voluntary Registration of South Africans Abroad (ROSA) software at http://www.dirco.gov.za/consular/index.html and click on thehttp://www.dfa.gov.za/images/consular/rosa2.gif button to access the web form. This service is provided to enable us to contact you and/or your family during an emergency abroad.

3. For general information on the situation, (excluding information about flights and bookings), South African citizens are welcome to contact the South African Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at telephone: 00 966 1 442 9716 /18 / 19 / 20. The time in Riyadh is +1 hour from SA time.

4. If you wish to leave Yemen but your passport is not available to you, please contact the Embassy in Riyadh to consult on an Emergency Travel Document.
