Department of International Relations and Cooperation total Staff Compliment at the United Nations (UN), and Cost for such Staff related to the Office and Housing Accommodation per year

Mr S Mokgalapa (DA) to ask the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation:

  1. What is the department’s (a) total staff compliment at the United Nations (UN) and (b) cost for such staff related to (i) office and (ii) housing accommodation per year?

REPLY:

a) The Mission has a total staff compliment of 33, which is composed of 18 transferred officials and 15 Locally Recruited Personnel (LRP’s).

b)

i) The total rent for the office of the South African Mission in New York, including the Consulate General and the United Nations Permanent Mission is $ 1 395 940 per annum.

ii) The cost for the housing accommodation for Permanent Mission to the UN (PMUN) officials is $ 1 291 020 per annum.
