PUBLISHED IN INTERNAL QUESTION PAPER NO 3-2012 OF 21 FEBRUARY 2012
Mr IO Davidson (DA) to ask the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation:
Whether the Government is using diplomatic instruments to prevent continued violations of human rights by the ZANU-PF; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details.
Through its SADC mandated Facilitation, the South African government is constantly engaging the parties signatory to the Global Political Agreement on a number of political and social issues, including human rights. Most recently, the three political parties in the Inclusive Government staged a joint anti-political violence indaba committing themselves to stopping inter-party violence in the run up to elections.
