Minister Pandor to launch a new initiative in honour of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke
The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, will on Monday, 23 August 2021, deliver the keynote address at the launch of the Charlotte Maxeke African Women’s Economic, Justice and Rights (AWEJR) initiative. The initiative is aimed at giving practical effect to South Africa’s commitment to the economic and financial inclusion of women.
The Charlotte Maxeke AWEJR was first announced by Minister Pandor during her 2021 Budget Vote Speech in Parliament as South Africa’s plan to mobilise the global community to support women’s leadership across all the action coalitions, particularly economic justice and rights, education, training and mentorship as well as creating opportunities in political participation, diplomacy and trade.
