A yellow fever certificate is required. Immunisation is
recommended in respect of hepatitis A and B and tetanus. Malaria is endemic and
there is a high risk throughout the year.

Gabon has an equatorial and humid climate. The long dry season
is generally from about the end of June to September with a short dry season from
mid December to mid January. The long rainy season is from mid January to June
with a short rainy season from the end of September to mid December.

Gabon is a member of the "Communaute Financiere Africaine"
(African Financial Community) or CFA Franc Zone, made up of a group of West and
Central African nations. The CFA, which is the only legal tender, is not freely
convertible. It is on a fixed exchange rate with the Euro, namely 1 Euro = + -656
FCFA (655,957 FCFA).
