Hanoi Cultural Day of Peace
The event was organised to highlight the 60th Anniversary of the capital Hanoi’s Liberation Day (10 October 1954 - 2014) and the 15th anniversary of UNESCO recognition of Hanoi as a City of Peace.

Thousands of participants, including representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions, joined the people of Hanoi in the celebration of the event

Various public cultural and arts activities were presented to highlight the capital‘s tradition and achievements over the years, such as cultural and arts performances, a street festival, a drawing competition for children, martial art performances, and the releasing of doves in the scheduled walk & cycle for peace.

In solidarity with the people of Hanoi, the South Africa Embassy together with other Embassies in Hanoi took part in presenting their country’s cultures. The Embassy also promoted the conservation of the rhino with the distribution of copies of rhino books published by Humane Society International and CITES in English and Vietnamese.
