South Africa will participate in the World Expo which will be held in Shanghai, China in 2010. The location of the Expo is the Waterfront of the Huangpu River between the Nanpu Bridge and Lupu Bridge, downtown Shanghai.

Participation in the Shanghai 2010 World Expo will provide South Africa with the opportunity to showcase the vibrancy of South African cities and urban culture.It is also an opportunity to change perceptions in China about Africa in general and South Africa in particular.

South Africa will make use of the opportunity of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo to demonstrate how far we have progressed in our development efforts and to share lessons about our successes. It is also an opportunity for us to gain international exposure for our technologies, products and companies.
