The World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of the economic, scientific, technological and cultural exchanges, serving as an important platform for displaying historical experience, demonstrating enthusiasm, exchanging ideas and looking to the future.

The World Expositions are galleries of human inspiration and thought. They started in1851, when the Great Exhibition of Industries of All Nations was held in London.

Hosting of Expos is awarded on the basis of a competitive bidding process and the 2010 World Expo was awarded to the People’s Republic of China in 2002. It will be the first registered World Exposition in a developing country.
